THE CLIENT
Mercedes-Benz Vans Mobility GmbH, which is part of Daimler Mobility was founded in Berlin in 2016. The range of services is bundled under a uniform corporate brand and new concepts for Mercedes-Benz Vans are developed and marketed there.
THE TASK
Mercedes-Benz Vans provided a pilot area for new office worlds on two floors in the 13-storey building of Mercedes-Benz Vertrieb Deutschland. The aim was to reorganise the work areas to stimulate creativity and concentration and networking of the employees and thus promote the success of the company.
THE REALIzATION PROCESS
Based on the concept study by Carpus + Partner AG, CP Bauteam drew up the factory and assembly planning. Floors 7 and 8 of the administration building were gutted and rebuilt in sections while maintaining operations in the entire building complex. From the former 45 permanent workplaces on the two floors, 95 workplaces were created in a modern office environment and a total of 210 different options were made available for interactive work. To address different working situations and types, level 7 was designed for creative work and level 8 for concentrated work. New workspaces were created reflecting the teamwork based corporate culture, and the harmony between communication and concentration.
THE CHALLENGE
To ensure that the conversion measures could be finished during ongoing operations in a 13-storey building and within the two converted floors, a comprehensive logistics and operations concept had to be developed and implemented in consultation with the users and the works council. Half floors were rebuilt at a time, which required a high degree of flexibility and consideration on both sides.
