THE CONTRACTING AUTHORITY
The Düsseldorf University Hospital looks back on a 100-year history. Today it is one of the most important medical centres in the region. It currently consists of 29 clinics and 30 institutes. More than 300,000 outpatient treatments are carried out here every year and around 42,000 patients are treated as inpatients. The university clinic has its own pharmacy that supplies the hospital and the surrounding hospitals with all required pharmaceuticals, carries out quality assurance and checks the safety and efficacy of the medicinal products.
THE TASK
Realization of a central pharmacy with pharmaceutical production. The university hospital also acts as a clinical service provider and produces drugs, infusion and dialysis solutions, cytostatics, chemicals and diagnostics for third parties. The previously separated pharmacy functions of the university were therefore to be combined in a new building. The planning and implementation services were put out to public tender. The project was realized in a joint venture with the companies Lindner Reinraumtechnik and Imtech Düsseldorf.
THE CHALLENGE
The new building was planned and realized as a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical factory on a laboratory-scale with extensive logistics functions. Wide experience in project management for highly installed buildings, efficient integration of interdisciplinary specialists and cooperative work with the client guaranteed a high-quality, fast and cost-optimised realization in this project.
