Project comments

"An exemplary and collegial approach to dealing with unplanned incidents
in the construction process - and this despite the strict timeline and high quality requirements: CP Bauteam: this name says it all".
Wolfgang Geuecke
facility manager
ISD e.V.

Acting as the general contractor, CP Bauteam carried out a comprehensive redesign of existing school spaces on the International School of Düsseldorf campus in Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth. The goal of the project was to implement an innovative spatial concept developed based on plans by the American consulting and planning firm Fielding Nair International. The fundamental restructuring of the existing spaces created modern, open learning environments that sustainably promote collaborative, interdisciplinary, and future-oriented learning.
The project was developed jointly with the International School of Düsseldorf, Fielding Nair International, and Carpus+Partner AG as a so-called “Pathfinder Project” and served as a pilot project for the future development of the entire school campus. CP Bauteam brought the ambitious planning concept to construction-ready status within six months and subsequently, as the general contractor, was responsible for the complete execution of the construction project. Implementation within the existing building structure was particularly challenging. To create the open learning environments, significant modifications to the existing structural framework were required in some areas; these were precisely planned and executed in compliance with structural, fire safety, and building services requirements. At the same time, the entire construction project had to be completed during the summer break so that school operations could resume without restrictions at the start of the new school year.
Thanks to detailed scheduling and construction site logistics, and close coordination among all project participants, construction was completed within a timeframe of just eight weeks, and the project was handed over to the client on schedule, including all regulatory approvals. The project demonstrates CP Bauteam’s expertise in carrying out complex renovation projects in existing buildings, where the highest standards of schedule, quality, and interface management are required.
