CLIENT
The client has made a name for itself as a specialist in the pharmaceutical analysis of small molecules and biomolecules since 1995. With sites in Bergheim and Mainz, the certified contract laboratory is internationally successful and stands for the highest quality and cutting-edge analytics “Made in Germany”.

TASK
A state-of-the-art office and laboratory building was built for the company in Bergheim II. The plan was to complete the project in three construction phases. In the first construction phase, 100 new jobs were created. In the long term, the new building was to provide space for 200 employees.

PLANNING PROCESS
Process analyses and joint workshops were used to identify potential for improvement and optimize the structural situation. In addition to the analytical laboratory processes, the areas of logistics, digital infrastructure, GMP conditions and attractive workplace design were also taken into account during the planning process. In addition, a master plan was developed for the coming years, which regulated the material and personnel flows as well as the move itself with a view to phased implementation. This ensured that the operational business could function without any major overlaps with the construction work.

REALIZATION PROCESS
The first construction phase was implemented using the construction team model on the basis of the implementation planning drawn up by Carpus+Partner AG.

CHALLENGE
The particular challenge of the project was the tight schedule, which required precise planning and efficient coordination and execution in two construction phases in order to avoid delays. At the same time, the budget had to be strictly adhered to. Thanks to targeted cost controls and close cooperation with planners and suppliers, the project was completed on time.
